Wonderful
The world crumbles before her eyes
and yet..
The world crumbles before her eyes.. like a chocolate chip cookie dough biscuit on a white, marble counter.
What a gooey, horrible mess it makes.
But then she realizes, as tears fall desperately down her cheeks—and she felt so desperate just then, wanting everything to be good and happy and bright—Her world is ever present.
Not that her world is still there but that it has always been there.
An internal paradise.
Filled with fabulous fairies and benevolent trolls and pixies that snicker secret lovely plans in her ears..
..Flowers that grow all the way into the clouds, where new cities twirl throughout space and time. And creatures made of glitter, play and laugh with one another.
Magic that protects her, infinitely. Forever.
Magic that gives her hope. Magic that is unafraid to witness her sadness, her anger, then turn it into something that shines.
Magic that knows her desires and dreams (alongside a kindred spirit that holds them all like the most precious treasure).
No matter how many times the world falls before her eyes. Or is ripped apart. Or is pillaged and crushed by mortal enemies and tyrant foes: Her world stays constant; a light flickering in the dark. An immortal firefly. The last star in the sky.
That final, persistent ray of sunlight on ocean waves.
And she thinks to herself:
every wonderful thing is possible at all times.
